    • How much power do you need?: You will have to calculate the maount of power you will need in your home. The way to go about this is to consider how many gadgets in you home will be running at once when using solar power. This way you will be able to have an idea of the amount of power you need in KVA or KW. One way to calculate how much enery you need will be to check your electricity bill to see how much electricity you consu,e per day then multiply this by .25 and this will tell you how big a system you will need to buy.

    • How do I know how much power I need?:  For example, if you live is a 3 bedroom house and budget is a problem, you can start with 5KVA solar generator this will be able to power light bulbs in every room, Ceiling fans in every room, one fridge, one LCD tv, music stereo in every every room. The amount of power needed will also determine the number of solar panels and batteries you will need.

    • Make sure to buy branded solar panels, inverters: Buy branded solar products that have warranty when you decide to install solar power in your home.

    • Installation: Make sure that you get installation services from the store you buy the products from even if you may have to pay for the installation yourself. Some dealers may include the installation cost in the product prices but this might be limited to buyers living on Abuja and Lagos. If you are living in a remote area or a state not covered you may be required to pay extra.
